The Cypriot city of Kourion was founded by Argos endured from antiquity until the early Middle Ages passing through different phases from a Hellenistic, Roman, and Christian periods. The city has a very large Agora, large public baths, a nymphium with large octagonal swimming pool and amphitheatre which sits 2000 spectators. Under Rome amny gladiator games were held so we also find a training Palestra. Obverse crouching lion and a Λ below. Reverse an angry bull with head down, flicking his tail and another Λ below
