Seventh of the 12 Caesars and first emperor of the Year of the Four Emperors
Servius Sulpicius Galba, also called Servius Sulpicius Galba Caesar Augustus, was the sixth Roman Emperor and reigned for seven months, from 8 June 68 until his murder. He was the first emperor of the Year of the Four Emperors. He proclaimed himself Caesar after the suicide of Nero. Obverse bare head of Galba IMP SER GALBA AVG. Reverse inscription S P Q R OB C S in three lines within an oak wreath.
